I am looking for information on Nathaniel Smith & wife Phebe Fly Smith He was in Ellsworth around 1746 to 1805. They had about 11 children one of the last was my g.g.grandfather Aaron Smith. Nathaniel moved to Grand Manan Island, Ca. around 1805 & died there 1836. Aaron showed up in York Co. N.B. Ca. in 1810. I would like to put out a query for anyone who may have more info. on this family. I know the records were lost in the fire of 1935. Anything you could do would be greatly appreciated.

I am a volunteer with the historical society in Durango, Colorado. About 1875 Hancock resident Charles B Joy (1840-1914) came to Durango as a blacksmith. The cabin he built still stands on the grounds of the Animas Museum. He left Durango in 1904, was in a veterans’ hospital for a year and died in 1914. He is buried in Riverside Cemetery. We are trying to find out anything about how he came to move to Durango, or about his last 10 years.

I have him in 1910 census in Weymouth, Mass. I have him admitted to Togus (Veteran’s home), 4 Oct., 1904 and discharged at his request 21 Nov. 1904. He left a widow but I don’t have her name. He died 21 Jan, 1911 in Boston. Cause of death was chronic myocarditis.

I found a marriage record for Elizabeth Merrill 1782, but not for Elizabeth Freethly or were they the same person?
2) Could Elizabeth Freethy have married a Merrill before Moses Black?
3) Were there 2 Moses Blacks?
4) I don’t have any birth records for Jotham Freethy Black. I need
something supporting their father son relationship.
There are also several written sources, only available in Maine, which may have information in them, but these are not digital and I live in Ohio.
